Description
7 3/8" x 5 3/8" with some paint loss as evident--I personally think all to the good
but then I don't know a whole lot about the variety of telegrams that were issued
that the softness and mystery of it is due to the fact that it is a sandpaper painting--a technique popular in the mid 19th century
or someone in charge of the sleeping quarters in a rooming house
Red Roofs, Blue Steeple, Moody Sky, Adelaide Lawson Expressionistic Oil on Canvas Sketch/Fragment hopi bowl 7 3/8" x 5 3/8"One last piece by Adelaide Lawson Gaylor today. I'm not entirely sure whether this oil on canvas painting was a fragment of a larger work or, I think much more likely, a complete work on a scrap of canvas, likely painted en plein air and looks like a view of an Italian hill town to me. It certainly feels complete as is, and full of energy, marvelous sky over those distinctive red terra cotta roofs with church steeply rising highest against the blue
