Bank of England, St Christopher-le-Stocks and St Bartholomew-by-the-Exchange, London Size:XL: 90 x 60cm 'The London Beggar'Bank of England and the churches of St Christopher le Stocks and St Bartholomew by the Exchange, London, c1775. Both churches wer rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London. St Christopher le Stocks was demolished in 1781 to make way for the expansion of the Bank of England. St Bartholomew by the Exchange met the same fate in 1840 when Threadneedle Street was widened.
