CVNE (Contino), Rioja Gran Reserva Vintage:2007 This is a lighter wine

This is a lighter wine for the appellation but there is plenty of character and it’s focused like a laser

On the palate it shows a bit of the more rustic style of the 1970s

It was made using native yeasts and minimal sulfur

This is also moderately toasty with its otherwise fresh and attractively layered aromas of purple fruit

CVNE (Contino), Rioja Gran Reserva Vintage:2007 This is a lighter wineA very powerful red with the structure and intensity of a great Rioja from the 1950s, 1960s or 1970s. Real gran reserva. Dried fruits such as plums, prunes and cherries. Hints of figs too. Layered and so structured. Full bodied and chewy yet intense and persistent. A fabulous wine. So much potential here. Better in 2020.
