2023 Pierre Girardin [Côtes du Jura] Chardonnay “Abeilles” Slam Dunk Gifts Representing just 1% of AustrianDrawn from limestonemarl soils, Abeilles is Chardonnay made for clarity and lift: whole cluster pressed, fermented with native yeasts, and raised mainly in neutral barrels ouill (topped up) to preserve tension rather than oxidative breadth. It opens with cool citrus and green apple tones, a faint wild flower honeyed echo true to its name, and a chalk saline line that keeps the palate long and finely textured.
